Buffering module MB500 12V
Archived product
The buffer module is used to change an ordinary power supply into a buffer power supply (with battery backup).
The advantages of using a buffer module compared to a complete buffer power supply are:
- separation of the power supply and buffer unit - in case of overvoltage in in 90% of cases the power supply is damaged leaving the buffering unit operational;
- possibility of easy installation in existing points - just plug it in between the power supply and the powered device.
Principle of operation:
- When the supply voltage is available, the module delivers it to its output without processing. (minus a decrease on the diode at the level of 0.5V) No processing guarantees high efficiency.
- At the same time, the correct voltage is provided at the battery output to charge the battery. The battery is charged in accordance with the principles of battery charging - first with a constant current of 0.5A, and then with a constant voltage of 13.8V (2.3V per cell).
- In the event of a power outage, battery voltage is supplied to the output circuit. The output voltage in this case is also not processed, it is reduced only by a drop on the diode by approx. 0.4V.
The module status is signaled by means of LEDs. Green indicates operation with external voltage, red indicates its absence and battery operation.
The device has protection against for almost every possible failure caused by the user:
- two fuses with signaling, blown fuse is indicated by a diode - for easy diagnosis;
- reverse battery polarity;
- output battery short circuit;
- over discharge battery at level 10,5V (for 2 batteries) +/- 0,3V;
- thermal – 50°C.
No mechanical components, designed and manufactured in Poland.
The product complies with the requirements of the CE marking and standards in force in the EU.
