The Ubiquiti UMR is a wireless router equipped with a LTE Cat. 4 modem. It can connect to a single band, with a maximum theoretical download speed of 150 Mbps and upload speed of 50 Mbps. The router supports wireless network transmission in Wi-Fi 4 standard (2.4 GHz) using IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols. The maximum theoretical Wi-Fi throughput is 150 Mbps. The device comes with 2 external LTE antennas that can be replaced with stronger ones if needed, using TS9 female connectors.
The router is equipped with 2 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps). The first port includes a Power over Ethernet (PoE) input for power supply, and the second port features PoE Passthrough. You can power the device using the USB-C port or the 4-pin ATX DC connector as well. The maximum power consumption is 9 W, and you can only use PoE Passthrough if you are supplying power through PoE. An additional advantage is the integrated GPS module and a display where you can check the current operational status.
Built-in LTE Cat. 4 modem with detachable antennas
The Ubiquiti UMR features a built-in LTE Cat. 4 modem, allowing connection to a single band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 150 Mbps for downloading data and 50 Mbps for uploading. The device is backward compatible with the 3G standard.
Two omnidirectional external LTE antennas have been used, and if necessary, they can be replaced with more powerful ones. The device has built-in female TS9 connectors. If you reside in rural areas where the base stations are distant from your location, you can use an external high-gain antenna.
Wi-Fi 4 N150 transmission
The router allows the creation of a wireless transmission in the 2.4 GHz band, supporting Wi-Fi 4 standard, including IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols. The maximum theoretical throughput for the connection is 150 Mbps.
The device enables full utilization of the capabilities offered by the LTE modem. The integrated omnidirectional antenna is responsible for the Wi-Fi transmission.
2 gigabit Ethernet ports, 3 power supply methods
The offered product features 2 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps). The first port has a Power over Ethernet (PoE) input, and the second port has PoE Passthrough. You can use the PoE Passthrough only if you are supplying power through the PoE input and not through other methods.
You can also power the router using the USB-C port or the 4-pin ATX DC connector. The package includes a USB-C power supply with a voltage of 5 V DC and a current of 3 A. The maximum power consumption is 9 W.
GPS, LCM display, WAN failover function
The UMR features a built-in GPS modem and an integrated antenna. It can be successfully utilized in various types of vehicles, such as buses for passenger transport. An additional advantage is the screen, where you can find basic information regarding the operational status.
The device supports automatic WAN failover functionality. You can use it to secure your network in the event of a failure in the primary connection. In case of an Ethernet connection outage, the UMR will automatically switch to LTE transmission.
Multiple uses
The Ubiquiti UMR is a versatile device suitable for various applications. With its built-in WAN Failover function (automatic switching to LTE in case of a primary link failure), it can be used to secure existing networks, which is particularly valuable in corporate settings. The UMR can also be effectively employed at home as the main device, providing high performance and stable LTE connectivity. In transportation, the router is well-equipped with built-in GPS, allowing vehicle tracking. It facilitates the creation of a wireless network for passengers being transported in the vehicle.
