TP-Link WA1801 is an access point supporting Wi-Fi 6 AX1800. It supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax in the 5 GHz band, with a maximum theoretical throughput of 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz. The device features one gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mbps), which also serves as a PoE power input; power can also be supplied via a standard DC port. The WA1801 supports four operating modes: access point, signal repeater, Wi-Fi client, and Multi-SSID (in this mode, it supports up to 4 SSIDs with a separate VLAN for each). The product allows the creation of a captive portal with a function for logging into the wireless network. It is an excellent way to set up a cost-effective Wi-Fi network in a restaurant or guesthouse without investing in an extensive system.

Wi-Fi 6 AX1800

The access point supports Wi-Fi 6 wireless networking, including IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz.

The speed provided by the WA1801 is sufficient for most applications, including streaming high-resolution content online.

Large transmission range

The WA1801 features four external omnidirectional antennas that provide good wireless network coverage. Additionally, it supports the Beamforming function, focusing the signal toward users to ensure the highest possible network quality.

WPA3

The Wi-Fi 6 standard not only offers higher speeds but also improved wireless network security. WPA3 encryption enhances the safety of your Wi-Fi, especially against brute-force attacks.

Gigabit Ethernet port

The device is equipped with one Gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mbps), providing good wireless connection speeds and enabling the utilization of the bandwidth offered by Wi-Fi 6.

PoE power in

The offered product supports passive PoE, significantly simplifying its installation, as only one cable needs to be routed to the target location. Power can also be supplied via a standard DC port. The package includes a compatible power adapter and a PoE injector.

Captive portal

A key advantage of the WA1801 is the ability to create a welcome page (captive portal) through which guests can connect to the wireless network. You can design it yourself using your company's logo and color scheme. This is a significant benefit when setting up Wi-Fi in places with many guests, such as restaurants or guesthouses.

Four operating modes

The WA1801 can operate in four different modes:

• Access Point (default mode) – creates its own wireless network.
• Multi-SSID – creates a wireless network with up to 4 SSIDs, each SSID can be assigned a different VLAN.
• Signal Repeater – extends the range of an existing wireless network.
• Client – operates as a client of a Wi-Fi network.
