PoE Transmission Set over 2 Wires (10 Mbps)

The offered product is a set that enables Ethernet transmission using 2-wire cable. You can use any two-wire cable, a single pair of Ethernet twisted pair (e.g., in case of damage), or a telephone cable. Both data transmission and power are delivered over the two wires. The ETH10-2wire-SET is equipped with Ethernet ports with a maximum throughput of 10 Mbps.

Active device, 3 modes

The device requires a power supply to operate. By default, power should be supplied via PoE, but a standard external power adapter (10 - 56 V DC) can also be connected. If you want to use the PoE output, a voltage above 44 V is required. Power consumption is less than 1.35 W.

The device supports 3 operating modes, which are switched using a jumper. In mode 1, power is drawn from the DATA port, and only data is transmitted on the output port. In mode 2, power is drawn from the DATA port, and both data and power are transmitted on the output port. In mode 3, power is drawn from the DC terminal, and both data and power are transmitted on the output port.

Range up to 1000 m

The maximum transmission range is 1000 m, which is greater than in the case of the ETH-2wire-A-SET converter. The manufacturer performed measurements using a single pair of UTP twisted pair cable. It is important to remember that the range depends on the quality of the cable used.

Applications

The converter set is ideal for situations where you want to run Ethernet transmission using old wiring, especially in locations where laying new cable is difficult or even impossible. Due to the limited bandwidth (10 Mbps), the main application is in IP video surveillance networks. The device allows you to easily convert an old analog camera system into a modern IP camera network without the need to install new Ethernet cabling.
