TP-Link EAP255-OUTDOOR is a dual-band access point designed for outdoor installations, evidenced by its IP65 ingress protection rating. The device supports simultaneous wireless transmission in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, complying with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac standards. The combined maximum theoretical data throughput is 1167 Mbps, split between 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. Communication is facilitated by detachable antennas with a gain of 3 dBi for 2.4 GHz and 4 dBi for 5 GHz, allowing for replacement with higher gain models. Wireless functionality is enhanced by MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology, which optimizes performance by simultaneously handling data transmission to multiple client devices. The wired interface consists of a single Gigabit Ethernet port. Power for the access point is delivered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), supporting both the 802.3af standard (48 V) and Passive PoE (24 V), with a passive PoE injector included in the set. The device is fully compatible with the EAP Controller centralized management system, which provides free tools for configuration, real-time monitoring, remote software updates, and coverage visualization for multi-point networks, including the ability to create Captive Portal welcome pages and manage authentication. The EAP255-OUTDOOR's construction is adapted for wall or pole mounting, and the necessary mounting hardware is included in the set.
