Grandstream GWN7801 is a managed switch equipped with 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mb/s) and 2 SFP slots (1 Gb/s). It supports Layer 2 and partially Layer 3 functions. You can use GWN7801 to create VLANs (up to 4K ID), multicast support (IGMP / MLD Snooping, MVR), traffic prioritization (QoS) or access lists (ACL). An additional advantage is the support of the DHCP server and numerous security features, such as port isolation, MAC address filtering, DHCP Snooping or 802.1x / RADIUS / AAA / TACACS+ authentication.
The maximum switching capacity is 20 Gb/s, and the packet forwarding speed is 14.88 Mpps. The buffer size is 4.1 MB. The switch has been enclosed in a small desktop housing, it can be mounted on the wall or placed on a desk / shelf. Passive cooling is used, inside the housing there is an integrated power supply with a power of 30 W.
The switch uses the GWN system, which enables central management of multiple devices, including access points. From this software you have full access to the configuration, which greatly simplifies the control of the entire network. GWN is available as a program (GWN Manager) available for PCs or in the cloud (GWN Cloud). Using GWN Manager, you can connect up to 3,000 devices, while the cloud has no such limitation. Both management methods are free, the manufacturer does not charge any additional fees. The third option is local management, using a graphical web interface.

8 gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 SFP slots
The switch is equipped with 8 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and 2 SFP slots. The maximum switching capacity is 20 Gb/s, and the packet forwarding speed is 14.88 Mp/s. High efficiency and the use of fiber optic ports makes the switch has many applications. On the one hand, you can use it as part of a standard corporate or even home network, on the other hand, it will also work well in large, active fiber optic networks to connect subscribers.
Layer 2+ Management
You can manage the device through the GWN Manager program, the GWN.Cloud cloud platform or the graphical web interface available locally. The Switch will allow you to monitor CPU and memory usage, and supports popular network tools such as Ping, Traceroute and UDLD (TBD).
As an added bonus, RMON, Syslog and traffic statistics will help you optimize your network. The LLDP and LLDP-MED functions allow for automatic discovery, provisioning and management of end devices. You can find the full list of supported features in the specification.
Advanced security
You can use packet filtering based on IP address, MAC address, VLAN or port. The switch supports 802.1x, RADIUS, AAA and TACACS+ authentication to ensure proper device authorization.
The offered product also has protection against attacks such as ARP spoofing, illegal address spoofing and DDoS. The switch also supports DHCP Snooping and standard loop protection.
Switching functions
The switch can handle up to 8K MAC addresses, including static, dynamic and filtered. You can create VLANs, the maximum number of VLAN IDs is 4K. The device supports VLAN tagging in accordance with the IEEE 802.1Q standard, as well as port-based VLAN and voice VLAN. It also supports spanning tree protocols (64 instances) - STP / RSTP / MSTP.
Quality of Service
The QoS (Quality of Service) feature allows you to prioritize traffic per port, traffic shaping and bandwidth throttling. Queuing is possible based on the SP, WRR, WFQ, SP-WRR or SP-WFQ algorithm. An additional advantage is the access control list (ACL), which can contain up to 1.5K entries.
