The TP-Link Tapo C225 is a home IP camera with a resolution of 4 megapixels - QHD 2560 x 1440 px. It features a 4.3mm lens with a horizontal viewing angle of 83° and a vertical angle of 43° (diagonal 100°). The device supports rotation function, with a range of 360° horizontally and 149° vertically, allowing precise tracking of a specific area. The Tapo C225 has a Starlight type sensor and supports a night mode with color recording. It performs well in low-light conditions, aided by the f1.6 aperture. The camera supports wireless transmission via Wi-Fi 6 in the 2.4 GHz band (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax). You don't need to run an Ethernet cable to it, which is helpful in many situations. Thanks to Wi-Fi, the Tapo C225 is also a mobile device; you can easily move the camera to another room if needed. Management is done through the Tapo app, allowing easy access to monitoring on Android/iOS mobile devices.

An additional feature of the offered product is the built-in microphone and speaker, allowing for two-way voice communication. The Tapo C225 is suitable for use as a baby monitor during childcare or for monitoring elderly individuals. The camera is equipped with a microSD slot, which can accommodate a card with a capacity of up to 512 GB (sold separately). This allows you to record footage without the need for an IP recorder.

Compatibility with external systems

The Tapo C225 can work with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Apple HomeKit. If you use any of the above systems, you can easily integrate the camera with them.

Pan/Tilt

The offered product supports rotation function, with a horizontal range of 360°. This allows you to cover the entire room with recording range. Rotation is done mechanically, giving you access to adjustments at any time.

High image quality

The camera supports a resolution of 4 megapixels - QHD 2688 x 1520 px, providing significantly better quality than cheaper 2-megapixel devices. Additionally, an aperture of f1.6 is used, allowing more light to enter the lens than in standard cameras. This enables obtaining a bright, high-quality image. The Starlight sensor filters out noise in low-light conditions, allowing the Tapo C225 to record in color even in night mode.

IR 940 nm indicators

The user can switch the night mode to operate using 940 nm IR LEDs (by default, the LEDs operate at 850 nm). These LEDs do not emit red light, which can disturb residents.

Starlight sensor

The Starlight sensor significantly improves image quality in low-light conditions. It allows for maintaining colors when the camera would otherwise switch to black and white mode without such a sensor.

Privacy mode

On the Tapo C225 housing, there is a "Privacy" button. When clicked, it activates the privacy mode. The lens is directed downwards, so it does not capture any images.

Fast Motion Tracking

The camera's rotation speed reaches up to 120° per second. The Tapo C225 is capable of tracking fast-moving objects, people, or animals.

Smart AI Detections

The Tapo C225 supports detection using artificial intelligence-based functions. The camera can recognize people, animals, and vehicles, and it can also detect sounds such as crying or glass breaking. Upon detection/recognition, you can receive a notification that draws your attention to the event.

Line-Cross Detection

The device allows you to create a virtual line, the crossing of which will be detected. You can program an event, such as a notification, to occur upon the detection of crossing the line.

Sound and Light Alarm

In case of an alarm, the camera can emit a loud alarm sound and simultaneously flash a light. All of this is aimed at deterring potential intruders.

Two-way audio communication

The device is equipped with a built-in microphone and speaker. Using the app, you can engage in two-way voice communication, which is very useful if you're using the Tapo C225 as a baby monitor.

microSD slot

The camera has been equipped with a microSD slot, where you can install a card with a maximum capacity of 512 GB. This allows you to record footage without the need for an external IP recorder. You can also use Tapo Care cloud for recording, but this feature requires an additional subscription.
