Dahua SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 is an IP camera from the X-Spans series, combining two independent modules. By purchasing this product, you get two cameras in one housing, each with its specific application, forming a complete system together. The fixed-position module supports an 8 MP (4K) resolution and features two 2.8 mm diagonal lenses. These lenses are directed in opposite directions, providing a 180° panoramic view. This module has two IR LEDs and two white light LEDs, supporting both black-and-white and color night modes, with a maximum range of 30 meters in both cases. The PTZ module supports rotation and is equipped with a 5-125 mm varifocal lens, offering a 4 MP resolution. It features automatic object tracking and allows for the planning of patrol routes. The lens supports a 25x optical zoom, enabling the capture of fine details. The PTZ module also supports both color and black-and-white night modes, featuring two IR LEDs and two white light LEDs. Its maximum range in color mode is 50 meters, while in black-and-white mode, it reaches 100 meters.
The device supports numerous Smart detection functions, has a built-in speaker, and features active deterrence (alarm with light and sound signals). The manufacturer has implemented H.265+ encoding, which significantly reduces bandwidth usage, bitrate, and the size of recorded footage compared to older standards. An additional advantage is the microSD slot (maximum card capacity: 512 GB), allowing you to install a memory card. This solution enables you to store recordings without the need for an additional recorder.
Two Lenses: 8 MP + 4 MP
The camera is equipped with two independent lenses—one fixed-position with an 8 MP resolution and another PTZ-enabled with a 4 MP resolution. The first lens has a 2.8 mm diameter, providing a field of view of 180° horizontally and 86° vertically. The PTZ module features a 5-125 mm varifocal lens, offering 25x optical zoom.
From a surveillance system perspective, both modules appear as separate cameras. The fixed-position module can be directed at the most critical area, while the PTZ module can be used to track specific objects.
Starlight Technology
Starlight Ultra-low Light technology enhances the device’s performance in low-light conditions. The camera stands out for its high light sensitivity and can record images even at 0.005 lux without activating night mode.
Perimeter Protection
The device supports automatic filtering of false alarms caused by factors such as animals, floating leaves, or bright lights. When a line is crossed or an area is entered, the image is first analyzed to minimize the risk of false alarms as much as possible.
Automatic Tracking
The camera supports target tracking, which can be triggered manually or automatically based on predefined events. During tracking, the PTZ module moves horizontally and vertically and utilizes optical zoom to provide the best possible view of the tracked object.
Smart Tracking
For target tracking, two lenses are used—the fixed-position module and the PTZ module work together. If a tracked object appears in the fixed-position module, the PTZ module will automatically initiate tracking. This enables the camera to provide highly accurate, detailed images of moving objects.
Smart Dual Light
The Smart Dual Light function enhances night mode performance. By default, the black-and-white mode using IR LEDs is activated. When an object is detected in the monitored area, white light LEDs are turned on, and the device switches to color night mode. Once the object leaves the monitored area, the camera returns to black-and-white mode.
H.265 Compression
The use of H.265 compression has reduced bandwidth (bit rate) and the size of recorded footage by up to 50% compared to the previously used H.264 standard.
IP66
The device is fully designed for outdoor use. The housing is made from UV-resistant material, providing protection against dust and water ingress, with an IP66 protection rating. Additionally, the camera is protected against surges and lightning strikes with TVS 6000 V protection.
