SG5428X is a managed L3 Lite layer switch fully integrated with the Omada SDN ecosystem designed for use in network infrastructure as an access or distribution device. The hardware design includes 24 RJ45 ports with 10/100/1000 Mbps throughput and 4 SFP+ slots supporting 10 Gbps transmission used for link aggregation or physical stacking of units. This model does not support Power over Ethernet technology which means it cannot power end devices directly from the copper ports. The switch supports advanced layer three routing mechanisms such as static routing RIP OSPF and ECMP providing communication between subnets while maintaining high bus throughput. The physical stacking function allows for connecting up to four units into a single logical system managed via a single IP address which increases scalability and redundancy of the network structure. The device is enclosed in a 1U height 19-inch rack-standard metal casing and features a connector for an external redundant power supply RPS ensuring business continuity in case of main power source failure. System administration is carried out through the centralized Omada SDN platform local graphical interface CLI or SNMP protocol which enables full control over network traffic access control lists ACL and security functions such as IP-MAC-Port-VID binding or DoS attack protection.
