Ubiquiti ECS-48S-PoE is an advanced switch designed for large, high-density campus network environments. It features 32 × 2.5G Ethernet ports, 16 × 10G Ethernet ports, 4 × SFP28 slots (25 Gb/s), and 2 × QSFP28 slots (100 Gb/s). The QSFP28 uplink slots are located on the rear of the chassis. The device supports stacking, with up to 8 switches per stack. Each Ethernet port provides PoE+++ power output (802.3bt Type 4), with a maximum of 90 W per port. The total power budget reaches up to 2150 W, assuming the power supply modules operate in Shared mode and the input voltage is 200–240 V AC. The switch delivers very high switching capacity of up to 680 Gb/s and is designed for demanding environments. It supports Layer 3 management features, including a DHCP server, DHCP relay, inter-VLAN routing, and static routing. The device includes two 1200 W AC power supply modules, which can operate in Shared mode to maximize the power budget or in Redundant mode to provide backup power in case one module fails. It also includes four redundant fan modules configured in a 3+1 setup. All modules are hot-swappable, allowing replacement without interrupting device operation.

The switch is equipped with 32 × 2.5G Ethernet ports and 16 × 10G Ethernet ports, allowing it to support modern Wi-Fi 7 access points without limiting their performance. Additionally, it includes 4 × SFP28 slots with throughput of up to 25 Gb/s and 2 × QSFP28 slots with throughput of up to 100 Gb/s. The QSFP28 slots are located on the rear of the chassis and are primarily intended for switch stacking. The SFP28 slots enable the creation of a 25 Gb/s infrastructure, representing a significant upgrade over the older SFP+ standard, which supports up to 10 Gb/s.
48 PoE+++ Outputs, Total Power Budget up to 2150 W
Each Ethernet port provides PoE+++ power output, with the highest supported standard being 802.3bt Type 4 and a maximum output power of 90 W per port. The total power budget depends on the operating mode of the power supply modules and the input voltage. At 200–240 V AC and in Shared mode, the power budget reaches up to 2150 W. At lower input voltage or in Redundant mode, the available power budget will be lower accordingly; full details can be found in the specification.


Hot-Swap Power and Fan Modules
The installed fan and power modules are hot-swappable, allowing them to be replaced while the device is operating. The fan modules operate in a redundant 3+1 configuration; in the event of a failure of one unit, the remaining three are sufficient to cool the switch. The power supply modules can also be configured in a redundant mode, in which case if one module fails, the other automatically takes over the operation.
