Description

The Ubiquiti UniFi 5G Max is a router/modem that provides access to 5G mobile connectivity. It delivers high performance, with a maximum theoretical data rate of 3.4 Gb/s (NSA) or 1.8 Gb/s (SA) for downloads and 560 Mb/s (NSA) or 650 Mb/s (SA) for uploads. The device is backward compatible with 4G LTE and 3G UMTS networks, automatically using the best available mobile technology. The U5G Max features two nano SIM slots and also supports eSIM functionality. When using an eSIM, the second nano SIM slot is disabled. The manufacturer has equipped the device with a 2.5G Ethernet port, allowing you to take full advantage of the high bandwidth offered by 5G connectivity. The product is an ideal solution wherever traditional wired Internet services are unavailable and mobile broadband is required. It can also be used as a backup Internet connection, ensuring network availability in the event of a primary WAN failure. The device can be wall-mounted or placed on a shelf or desk using the included stand. It is powered exclusively via PoE (802.3af). A PoE power supply is not included.

5G Connectivity, UniFi Integration

The offered product supports 5G NR mobile connectivity, with a maximum theoretical throughput of 3.4 Gb/s (NSA) or 1.8 Gb/s (SA) for downloads and 560 Mb/s (NSA) or 650 Mb/s (SA) for uploads. It delivers excellent performance, making it more than suitable for home and small business applications. The device is also backward compatible with 4G LTE and 3G networks.

The device is designed to operate within the UniFi ecosystem and does not support standalone mode. It must be adopted and managed through the UniFi controller.

Dual Nano SIM and eSIM Support

The device is equipped with two physical nano SIM slots, allowing you to use SIM cards from different mobile operators. In addition, the U5G Max supports eSIM functionality. When an eSIM is in use, the second nano SIM slot is disabled. The manufacturer recommends using physical SIM cards whenever possible.

2.5G Ethernet Port, PoE Power Supply

The manufacturer has equipped the device with a 2.5G Ethernet port, allowing you to take full advantage of the bandwidth provided by 5G connectivity. The same port also serves as the PoE (802.3af) power input—the device cannot be powered in any other way. The maximum power consumption is 14.5 W.

Ideal for 5G Connectivity in UniFi Networks

The device is an excellent choice wherever high-performance mobile connectivity is required. The U5G Max can be deployed either as the primary Internet connection or as a backup WAN that automatically takes over in the event of a primary link failure. Another advantage is its straightforward deployment. The device can be easily adopted by a UniFi Cloud Gateway and integrated on either the WAN or LAN side of the network.
