UltraLAN FTP Category 5e cable. The veins are made of copper-clad aluminum (CCA). The cable is intended for indoor use, with an outer PVC coating. It is shielded - pairs are covered with an aluminum foil. The outer diameter is 5.2 mm, while the vein diameter is approximately 0.5 mm (24AWG). The cable can be successfully used for data transmission indoors. It is sold in a carton containing approximately 305 meters of cable (1000 ft).
Category 5e
The cable meets the requirements of Category 5e, which is currently the most popular category of Ethernet cabling. It supports frequencies up to 100 MHz and is typically used in the 1000BASE-T (1 Gb/s) standard, but it can also handle the 2.5GBASE-T (2.5 Gb/s) standard.
F/UTP Twisted Pair (formerly known as FTP) features additional shielding (indicated by F for Foiled). All cable conductors are surrounded by an aluminum foil that serves as electrical shielding. This type of protection safeguards the cable from external interferences, including radio frequency interferences, and provides additional protection for connected devices against surges. It is important to remember that shielded cable must be properly grounded at both ends; improper installation of the shielding can degrade transmission quality instead of improving it. The conductors are in color-coded insulation, making it easy to identify each conductor and to terminate RJ45 plugs.
The conductors are made using CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) technology, where an aluminum core is coated with copper. The average diameter of the conductor is around 0.5 mm (24AWG). Utilizing this technology in production allows for a significant reduction in cable cost without sacrificing functionality. For standard Ethernet transmissions without Power over Ethernet (PoE) requirements, you won't notice any difference between using CCA and pure copper cables. This solution can greatly reduce installation costs.
The offered product has a PVC coating. It complies with the Eca standard (according to the CPR directive) and can be used indoors. However, it is not resistant to UV radiation and moisture ingress, so it should not be used outdoors. The outer diameter of the cable is 5.2 mm, and the coating is appropriately flexible, making it easier to install the cable in ducts.
The product is sold in a cardboard package. Inside, the cable is coiled into a roll that can be conveniently unwound through a specially designed opening. Additional plastic protection safeguards the cable from mechanical damage and abrasion during unwinding. A handle on the top of the box allows you to easily carry it with one hand. The side wall of the box can be opened, allowing you to quickly remove the entire cable if needed. Inside the box, there are 305 meters of cable.
UltraLAN cables are originally packed in pairs in sturdy shipping cartons. When ordering an even number, you will receive the cables in additional packaging, which is ideal for courier shipments..
