TP-Link RE500 is a dual-band (repeater) signal amplifier that can work in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands at the same time. It is equipped with one Gigabit Ethernet port, it can also be used as an access point. The repeater is plugged directly into the power socket (EU plug). The configuration takes place in a simple and intuitive way, it can be done, among others, through the Tether application available for mobile devices.
The product offered has four external omni-directional antennas, supports the MIMO 4x4 technology in the 2.4 GHz band and 3x3 MIMO / triple-chain in the 5 GHz band. It uses IEEE 802.11 b / g / n (2.4 GHz) / IEEE 802.11 a / n / ac (5 GHz) standards. Thanks to this, it is possible to achieve the maximum theoretical throughput at the level of 600 Mb / s (2.4 GHz) / 1300 Mb / s (5 GHz). An additional advantage is the MU-MIMO 3x3 technology that allows sending data to up to 3 devices at the same time. The amplifier also supports some useful functions such as: wireless transmission statistics, access control and LED's control.
The most important features:
- the ability to work as a repeater for a WiFi wireless network;
- the ability to work as an access point;
- simultaneous amplifier of two bands;
- 1 gigabit Ethernet port;
- IEEE 802.11 b / g / n (2.4 GHz) / IEEE 802.11 a / n / ac (5 GHz) standards;
- MIMO 4x4 in the 2.4 GHz / 3x3 MIMO band (triple-chain) in the 5 GHz band;
- theoretical throughput: 600 Mb / s (2.4 GHz) / 1300 Mb / s (5 GHz).
