Opton GP801R is an SFP insert which, when connected to a router / switch, imitates an ONU client terminal. Its advantage is compatibility with EPON and GPON technologies, thanks to its versatility it will work in any passive fiber optic network. Its optical properties comply with PX20 + standards for EPON and class B + for GPON. The maximum bandwidth is 1000 Mb / s and is dictated by the limitations of the SFP port. The insert does not work in 10G ports, even if we force the port speed to 1G.

The device can be managed via a web interface! You can preview the management options on the screenshots.
After inserting in switch it should be possible to ping 192.168.1.1. If the ping does not respond then try connecting the module to OLT optica signal. If ping still does not go through then module is not compatible with switch.

Default IP address and login details:
192.168.1.1
Login: admin
Password: stdONU101

You can change the SN / VENDOR ID!
To make such modification, log in via Telnet (this option is not available in the graphical interface). Below is a list of commands:

flash set GPON_SN xxxxxxxxxxxx (manufacturer's code should be given first, e.g. "HWTC", then the ending SN)
flash set PON_MODE 1 - setting the module to GPON mode
flash set PON_MODE 2 - setting the module to EPON mode
