The Cablemedia MB500 (version V3.0) is a device that allows you to convert a regular power supply into a backup power supply. You connect an external power supply and a battery to the MB500 simultaneously. In the event of a loss of the main power supply, the system switches to battery power until the batteries are discharged or the main power supply is restored. The MB500 has protection against over-discharge, with a minimum voltage of 19.2 V DC. The device charges the connected batteries with a charging current of 500 mA and a voltage of 27.6 V DC.
Due to the charging current used by the MB500, it is recommended to use batteries with a capacity of 1.3 to 24 Ah. Batteries with a larger capacity will take a very long time to charge. The maximum load current is 5 A, which is more than sufficient for connecting wireless devices or monitoring equipment. This product offers an affordable way to expand your existing power system with backup protection in case of a power outage.
