The TP-Link EAP650-Outdoor is an outdoor access point designed for outdoor use. It allows for wireless network transmission using Wi-Fi 6 and supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax protocols in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 574 Mbps in 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps in 5 GHz. The device is designed to work under the control of the Omada system, which enables centralized management of the entire network composed of access points, switches, and other equipment. The EAP650-Outdoor has 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, which also serves as a PoE (Power over Ethernet) input. It supports passive PoE 48 V or IEEE 802.3at compliant PoE, with a maximum power consumption of 12.5 W. With the accessories included in the kit, you can mount the access point on a wall or pole.
Perfect for outdoor use
The EAP650-Outdoor is suitable for any network where you require a high-performance device for outdoor use. You can successfully use it in home applications if you want to create Wi-Fi in the garden or on the terrace. The full capabilities of the EAP650-Outdoor are realized in extensive Omada networks. For example, it will be suitable for restaurant gardens, pools, or parks.
Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 wireless network
The offered product allows for creating a wireless network compliant with the Wi-Fi 6 standard. It utilizes IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 574 Mb/s in 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mb/s in 5 GHz. This speed will satisfy even demanding users, enabling fast downloading of large files or streaming high-resolution content online.
High performance even with multiple users.
Thanks to the use of OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies, the EAP650-Outdoor performs exceptionally well with multiple users connected simultaneously. It can handle up to 250 connections, which will be appreciated by anyone deploying it in demanding locations. Some networks need to be prepared to potentially handle a large number of clients, and the EAP650-Outdoor makes that possible.
Long range
The use of efficient antennas and additional signal amplifiers makes the device stand out with a large coverage area compared to competitive solutions. Features like Beamforming further enhance signal quality.
Efficient antennas
Inside the casing, there are integrated omnidirectional antennas responsible for transmission. Half of them have horizontal polarization, while the other half have vertical polarization. The device automatically selects the optimal antenna for each user to ensure the best possible signal. The gain is 4 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 5 dBi in the 5 GHz band.
Powering via PoE switch
Thanks to PoE support, you can connect the EAP650-Outdoor directly to a PoE switch without the need for an additional power adapter. This greatly simplifies installation and reduces the number of cables used.
Mesh function
Access points within the same Omada network can communicate wirelessly with each other using the Mesh system. In this configuration, you don't need to run an Ethernet cable to every device, which greatly simplifies the mounting and installation process, especially in locations where running a cable is impractical.
Power adapter included
In the package, you'll find an included power adapter that uses passive PoE. You can connect the access point to a regular network without the need for an Omada switch.
Seamless roaming
The wireless network is visible under one name, and as users move between individual access points, they are automatically switched between them. During this transition, users do not lose internet access. The system aims to provide the best possible coverage.
IP67 ingress protection
The wireless network is visible under a single name, and as users move between individual access points, they are automatically switched between them. During this handover process, users do not lose internet access. The system aims to provide the best possible coverage.
Wall or pole mounting
In the package, you'll find brackets that allow you to mount the EAP650-Outdoor on a wall or pole, depending on your needs.
Omada platform
The TP-Link EAP650-Outdoor is compatible with the Omada system. This platform allows for centralized management of multiple devices, including access points, switches, and routers. It facilitates the maintenance of large networks and significantly saves the administrator's time. A hotspot created using the Omada system enables coverage of very large Wi-Fi areas, allows for user access management, ensures reliability, and provides good security. You can manage the system using a hardware controller, a software controller available on PC, or a cloud controller.
Omada application
For mobile devices running Android/iOS, the Omada app is available. With it, you can quickly perform the initial setup and prepare the device for operation. The app later allows for easy network management and monitoring of the operational status in a straightforward manner.
