The Huawei S110-8P2ST is an unmanaged switch from the eKitEngine series. It is equipped with 9 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and 1 SFP slot (1 Gbps). Eight of the Ethernet ports feature PoE+ (802.3af/at) power output, with a maximum power of 15.4 W per port under 802.3af or 30 W under 802.3at. The total PoE power budget is 124 W (across all ports). The device does not have a management panel, but it can operate in three different modes, selectable via a physical switch. In "Standard" mode, it functions as a standard switch; in "Port Isolation" mode, the ports are isolated from each other; and in "Flow Control disabling" mode, flow control can be disabled. The S110-8P2ST has a compact enclosure and uses passive cooling, requiring no initial configuration during the first startup (plug-and-play). This device is primarily suited as an access switch in most networks based on access points. It allows simultaneous connection and powering of APs while supporting fiber optic transmission (SFP), making it suitable for remote location connections.
9x gigabit Ethernet, 1x SFP
The switch is equipped with 9 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and 1 SFP slot. The switching capacity is 20 Gbps, and the packet forwarding rate is 14.88 Mpps. The use of the SFP slot allows the switch to be connected over very long distances using a fiber optic cable.
8 PoE+ outputs
Eight of the Ethernet ports have PoE+ power output. The maximum output power per port, according to standards, is 15.4 W with 802.3af or 30 W with 802.3at. The total power budget for the entire device is 124 W. This is more than sufficient to connect up to 8 AP361 / AP362 access points.
Using PoE allows you to provide power and data transmission through a single Ethernet cable. With this type of switch, you only need to run one cable to each access point, eliminating the need for additional power adapters.
Three operating modes
The Huawei S110-8P2ST is an unmanaged switch, but it can operate in three different modes. The modes are switched using a physical switch located on the front of the device, next to the ports. In "Standard" mode, the device operates as a regular switch, "Port isolation" mode allows you to isolate the ports from each other, and "Flow Control Disabling" mode enables the disabling of flow control.
Usage
The offered product is best suited as an access switch in various types of networks. It stands out for its good price-to-quality ratio, and you can use it with access points from different series and manufacturers, not just eKitEngine. In locations where there are few APs and no need for management, the S110-8P2ST can also serve as the sole switch.
