The Ubiquiti U7 Pro Wall is an access point designed to work within the UniFi system. It can transmit Wi-Fi 7 wireless networks, supporting IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be protocols in the 2.4 GHz band, IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band, and IEEE 802.11 be in the 6 GHz band. The maximum theoretical Wi-Fi throughput is 688 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz band (2x2 MIMO), 4324 Mb/s in the 5 GHz band (2x2 MIMO), and 5764 Mb/s in the 6 GHz band (2x2 MIMO). The use of the 802.11be protocol provides higher throughput than the Wi-Fi 6E standard, which also uses three bands. Such high speeds are achievable through the use of 320 MHz wide channels and 4096QAM modulation. The Wi-Fi 7 standard also introduces many other useful features, such as Multi-Link Operation (MLO).
The access point comes with a housing suitable for wall mounting. You can mount the device directly on the wall or use an in-wall mounting box. It features 1 port of 2.5G Ethernet (1000/2500 Mb/s), which also serves as a PoE+ (802.3at) power input. The maximum power consumption is 22 W, and the power supply is not included in the package. Inside the housing are integrated omnidirectional antennas, with a gain of 4 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band, 5 dBi in the 5 GHz band, and 6 dBi in the 6 GHz band.
UniFi Network
The offered product operates under the UniFi software. UniFi enables centralized management of multiple devices from a single application. It is primarily designed for building hotspot networks composed of access points but also supports monitoring systems - the "Protect" series. With UniFi, you can build an extensive network and control it from one system. This allows for rapid configuration changes, hotspot settings adjustments, or firmware updates. The UniFi application is entirely free; you can download it for your computer or as a mobile app.
Wi-Fi 7 BE10800
The device supports the Wi-Fi 7 standard and is compatible with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be in the 2.4 GHz band, IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band, and IEEE 802.11 be in the 6 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 688 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz band, 4324 Mb/s in the 5 GHz band, and 5764 Mb/s in the 6 GHz band. Such high speeds are achievable through the use of wider channels and higher modulation compared to Wi-Fi 6/6E devices. The U7 Pro Wall supports channels with widths up to 320 MHz and 4096QAM modulation.
The Wi-Fi 7 standard also introduces numerous features that enhance transmission quality. One of these features is Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which allows for connections with client devices using all three bands simultaneously.
2.5G Ethernet port, PoE+
The access point is equipped with 1 port of 2.5G Ethernet (1000/2500 Mb/s), located in the bottom part of the housing for easy access. The Ethernet port serves as a PoE+ (802.3at) power input, with a maximum power consumption of 22 W. A power supply is not included in the package; you should use a PoE+ power supply or a switch that supports PoE+.
Wall mounting
The U7 Pro Wall enclosure is designed for wall mounting. You can attach the device directly to the wall using mounting plugs or mount it on an in-wall mounting box. Suitable screws and mounting plugs are included in the package.
Optionally, you can purchase a stand for the U7 Pro Wall, which allows you to place the access point on a shelf or desk.
Integrated omnidirectional antennas
The U7 Pro Wall features integrated omnidirectional antennas, with a gain of 4 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band, 5 dBi in the 5 GHz band, and 6 dBi in the 6 GHz band. According to the manufacturer, the maximum coverage area is 140 m². However, it's important to note that the actual coverage range may vary depending on the number and type of obstacles, the material of obstacles, and various types of radio interference.
Usage
The offered product is suitable for apartments, houses, and offices. Once installed, it blends seamlessly into the surroundings without disrupting the decor. It stands out for its high performance and good range. Wall mounting, in many cases, is more convenient and easier to execute than ceiling mounting. The use of a 2.5G Ethernet port ensures high connection throughput, which you will especially appreciate if you have a large package from your internet service provider.
