The Ubiquiti UK-Ultra is an access point designed for use within the UniFi system. It can transmit a Wi-Fi 5 wireless network and supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 300 Mbps for 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps for 5 GHz. The device has an enclosure suitable for outdoor installation and features an IPX6 protection rating. Using the accessories included in the UK-Ultra kit, you can mount it on a wall or pole, depending on the location. An additional advantage is its compact size, measuring only 137 x 84 x 34 mm.
The offered product is equipped with one gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mbps), which also serves as a PoE (802.3af) power input, with a maximum power consumption of 8 W. Inside the enclosure, there are integrated omnidirectional antennas with a gain of 4.7 dBi for 2.4 GHz and 6.1 dBi for 5 GHz. Additionally, the device has two RP-SMA connectors, to which you can connect external antennas with higher gain if needed. The UK-Ultra is a versatile access point that can be used in a wide range of locations. You can use it indoors and outdoors, and if necessary, extend its range with external antennas. Another advantage is its attractive price, which helps reduce the overall cost of building the network.
UniFi Network
The offered product operates under the UniFi software. UniFi enables centralized management of multiple devices from a single application. It is primarily designed for building hotspot networks composed of access points but also supports monitoring systems - the "Protect" series. With UniFi, you can build an extensive network and control it from one system. This allows for rapid configuration changes, hotspot settings adjustments, or firmware updates. The UniFi application is entirely free; you can download it for your computer or as a mobile app.
Wi-Fi 5 AC1200
The access point can transmit a Wi-Fi 5 wireless network, supporting IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 300 Mbps for 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps for 5 GHz. The device's performance allows it to handle up to 200 users simultaneously, which is sufficient for most home and office applications.
1 gigabit Ethernet port, PoE
The device is equipped with one gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mbps), which also serves as a PoE (802.3af) power input. The maximum power consumption is 8 W. You can use a compatible PoE injector (sold separately) or a PoE switch.
Weatherproof enclosure
The UK-Ultra is designed for outdoor installation, featuring an IPX6 protection rating. The port is protected against water ingress with a flap.
Using the accessories included in the kit, you can mount the device on a pole, wall, or ceiling. It is also suitable for indoor use, making it a versatile solution.
Integrated omnidirectional antennas, 2 RP-SMA connectors
The access point features built-in omnidirectional antennas with a gain of 4.7 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 6.1 dBi in the 5 GHz band. According to the manufacturer, the coverage area is 115 square meters. However, it's important to remember that the coverage range is dependent on local conditions. Factors such as obstacles (and the materials they're made of) and sources of interference can affect it.
If needed, you can utilize the two additional RP-SMA connectors to connect an external antenna. This way, you can further extend the Wi-Fi transmission range.
Jack of all trades
The Ubiquiti UK-Ultra is a versatile device suitable for a wide range of applications. You can mount it both indoors and outdoors, typically on the ceiling or wall, depending on your needs. Additionally, the RP-SMA connectors allow for significant range extension by using external antennas. All these features, combined with an attractive price, make the Ubiquiti Swiss Army Knife suitable for every home and office.
