The Ubiquiti U7 Outdoor is an access point designed to work within the UniFi system. It can transmit a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network and supports the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band, without utilizing the 6 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 688 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz band and 4324 Mb/s in the 5 GHz band. The device has an outdoor-rated enclosure with an IPX6 protection rating. The package includes a mount that allows you to install the access point on a pole, wall, or ceiling.
The access point features a 2.5G Ethernet port (1/2.5 Gb/s), which also serves as a PoE+ (802.3at) power input. The maximum power consumption is 19 W, and the device should be connected to a compatible PoE+ switch or an external PoE+ adapter (the adapter is not included). The access point is equipped with an integrated directional antenna, with a main beam width of 90° at 2.4 GHz and 45° at 5 GHz. The gain is 8 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 12.5 dBi at 5 GHz, providing excellent coverage. Additionally, the access point has two external omnidirectional antennas with a gain of 3 dBi (2.4 GHz) and 4 dBi (5 GHz). The external antennas can be replaced if needed, as they use RP-SMA connectors.
UniFi Network
The offered product operates under the UniFi software. UniFi enables centralized management of multiple devices from a single application. It is primarily designed for building hotspot networks composed of access points but also supports monitoring systems - the "Protect" series. With UniFi, you can build an extensive network and control it from one system. This allows for rapid configuration changes, hotspot settings adjustments, or firmware updates. The UniFi application is entirely free; you can download it for your computer or as a mobile app.
Wi-Fi 7 BE5000
The U7 Outdoor can transmit a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network, utilizing the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 688 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz band and 4324 Mb/s in the 5 GHz band. The U7 Outdoor does not support the 6 GHz band, but thanks to the 802.11 be protocol, it supports higher speeds than Wi-Fi 6 devices.
Integrated directional antenna, 2 RP-SMA connectors
The access point features an integrated directional antenna with a gain of 8 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 12.5 dBi in the 5 GHz band. The main beam width is 90° in the 2.4 GHz band and 45° in the 5 GHz band. By mounting the U7 Outdoor on a pole, you can achieve a very large transmission range while maintaining the ability to properly direct the antenna.
Additionally, the device has two RP-SMA connectors, and the package includes two compatible external omnidirectional antennas. These antennas have a gain of 3 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 4 dBi in the 5 GHz band. Thanks to the universal RP-SMA connectors, you can replace the antennas with stronger ones if needed. The included antennas are suitable for installations not too high, such as on a wall.
2.5G Ethernet port, PoE+
The device is equipped with a 2.5G Ethernet port (1/2.5 Gb/s), which also serves as the PoE+ (802.3at) input. The maximum power consumption is 19 W. The use of the 2.5G port allows for significantly higher throughput compared to standard devices with gigabit ports.
For outdoor use, wall / pole mounting
The U7 Outdoor has a casing designed for outdoor installation with an IPX6 protection rating, safeguarding the device against water and dust ingress. The package includes a universal mount, allowing you to install the access point on a pole or wall, depending on the needs of the specific location.
Usage
The offered product is an excellent solution for creating UniFi wireless systems outdoors. With its weatherproof casing and high-gain directional antenna, you can mount the device in the right location and aim it to cover the desired area. The use of Wi-Fi 7 standard and 2.5G Ethernet protocol ensures high performance and throughput.
The U7 Outdoor is suitable for use in homes, restaurants, businesses, and professional applications such as warehouse and production facilities.
