Ubiquiti Dream Router 7 is a Cloud Gateway designed to work within the UniFi system. It combines the functions of a controller and a router, allowing for remote network management via the cloud without the need for additional Cloud Key devices. The unit is equipped with 2 WAN ports – 1 SFP+ slot (10 Gbps) and 1 2.5G Ethernet port, and it supports load balancing. Additionally, it allows the connection of an external UniFi LTE as a third WAN. Moreover, the router features 3 LAN ports – all 2.5G Ethernet, with one of them offering PoE output (802.3af). The Dream Router 7 can broadcast a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network, using IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be protocols in the 2.4 GHz band, IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band, and IEEE 802.11 ax/be in the 6 GHz band. The maximum theoretical Wi-Fi throughput is 688 Mbps at 2.4 GHz, 4300 Mbps at 5 GHz, and 5700 Mbps at 6 GHz. In total, the device utilizes 6 MIMO streams (two per band) and supports up to 300 simultaneous users. Additionally, the Dream Router 7 supports IP recorder functionality – it can be used with UniFi Protect cameras. The device is equipped with a microSD slot, and the package includes a 64 GB card, which can be replaced with a larger one. You can use the card to record surveillance footage.

UniFi Cloud Gateway
The offered product is a Cloud Gateway designed to operate within the UniFi network. It serves as a controller and enables remote network access using the cloud. It supports the UniFi Network, Protect, Access, Talk, and Connect systems. The UDR7 also functions as a router and supports numerous advanced routing features. It can manage up to 30 UniFi devices simultaneously.
Additionally, the Dream Router 7 supports multiple VPN standards (Site-to-Site VPN, VPN server, VPN client) and is also compatible with SD-WAN. Users can take advantage of various security features, including an advanced firewall, content filtering, and ad blocking.
Wi-Fi 7 BE10700
The device can broadcast a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network, utilizing the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be protocols in the 2.4 GHz band, IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band, and IEEE 802.11 ax/be in the 6 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 688 Mbps at 2.4 GHz, 4300 Mbps at 5 GHz, and 5700 Mbps at 6 GHz. In total, the router features 6 MIMO streams (two per frequency band) and can support up to 300 simultaneously connected users.
Wireless transmission is handled by integrated omnidirectional antennas, with a gain of 5 dBi at 2.4 GHz, 7 dBi at 5 GHz, and 6 dBi at 6 GHz. According to the manufacturer, the Wi-Fi coverage area is 160 m².

1 SFP+ Slot, 4x 2.5G Ethernet Ports, Load Balancing
The Dream Router 7 is equipped with 2 WAN ports – 1 SFP+ slot and 1 2.5G Ethernet port – as well as 3 LAN 2.5G Ethernet ports. It supports load balancing across both WAN ports. Additionally, you can connect a UniFi LTE Backup device to provide a failover LTE connection. One of the 2.5G Ethernet LAN ports features PoE output (802.3af) with a maximum power output of 15.4 W.
UniFi Protect Support, microSD Slot
The offered product can also be used with cameras from the UniFi Protect series. It features a microSD slot, allowing you to record footage directly onto the card. A 64 GB card is included in the package, and you can replace it with a higher-capacity card if needed. The Dream Router 7 is capable of handling up to 5 HD resolution cameras, 2 cameras at 2K resolution, or 1 camera at 4K resolution.

Use Case
Thanks to its wide range of features, the Dream Router 7 is an excellent choice for various networks that utilize different UniFi devices. In home environments, it can simultaneously manage a wireless network, cameras, and potentially other Access or Talk series solutions. It’s also well-suited for small offices where a larger gateway is unnecessary. Due to its support for SD-WAN and VPN, the UDR7 is an ideal device for use in smaller company locations (e.g., retail stores) that need secure connectivity to the main corporate network.
