The Ubiquiti G3 Reader Pro is a reader designed for use in the UniFi Access system. When connected to the appropriate hub, it enables door opening and access control to a room. The device supports the use of a PIN code, NFC cards, facial unlock, Touch Pass, or a mobile app. It has a built-in microphone, speaker, and camera, and can be used as a video intercom; calls can be answered in the UniFi app, on an Intercom Viewer device, or on UniFi Talk series phones. With the accessories included in the set, the G3 Reader Pro can be mounted on a standard electrical box; additional mounting accessories are available for purchase. The device has an IP55 protection rating and must not be installed in locations exposed to direct precipitation.
Reader for the UniFi Access System
The offered product is a reader designed to work with the UniFi Access system. It does not have a standalone mode and can only be used as part of the entire system. Full functionality requires connection to a compatible hub. UniFi Access is a broad and continuously expanding family of products dedicated to managing access to specific rooms and buildings.

Multiple Door Unlocking Methods
The device allows door unlocking via facial recognition, NFC card/keyfob, PIN code, Apple Pay/Google Wallet, or a mobile app. Doors can also be opened remotely from the app. Using Touch Pass (unlocking by placing a phone with Apple Pay/Google Wallet) requires an additional fee; when purchasing the device, you receive a 1-year trial plan that includes 10 Touch Passes (one Touch Pass can be linked to only one Apple/Google account).
Camera and Two-Way Voice Communication
The G3 Reader Pro has a built-in camera, microphone, and speaker. It enables two-way voice communication with video, similar to standard video intercom systems. A call initiated from the reader can be answered in the UniFi Access app, on an Intercom Viewer device, or on UniFi Talk series phones. You can then unlock the door for the guest.

Touchscreen
The reader is equipped with a touchscreen and has no physical buttons. The device is easy and intuitive to operate, and the display stands out for its quality and responsiveness.
1G Ethernet Port, PoE Power Supply
On the back of the housing, there is a 1G Ethernet port, which also serves as the PoE (802.3af) power input. The device cannot be powered in any other way. The G3 Reader Pro is notable for its very low power consumption—6 W. It is designed for installation on an electrical/mounting box. If you wish to mount it directly on a wall, you must use optional brackets.
