The MikroTik FTC21-ups is a media converter that allows you to convert an SFP (fiber optic) signal to a 1G Ethernet port. It comes with a preinstalled SwOS system, which means it offers more functionality than a standard media converter that you cannot log into. It supports VLANs, SNMP reporting, basic traffic shaping, and ACL lists. The FTC21-ups has two 1G Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mb/s). The first port features PoE+ input (802.3af/at), while the second port provides PoE output (passive 24 V or 48 V DC). Power can also be supplied via the DC jack, with an input voltage range of 24–57 V DC. The main advantage of this device is its built-in battery – two Li-Ion NCA 18650 cells with a total capacity of 2.5 Ah. In the event of a power failure, the FTC21-ups switches to battery power to ensure continuous operation. In battery mode, the converter can operate for about 6 hours. When powering other devices, this time is reduced: according to the manufacturer, the operating time is 45–55 minutes for the Cube 60Pro, 1–2 hours for the LHG 5, and about 3.5 hours for the SXT LTE7 kit. When mains power is restored, the FTC21-ups starts charging the batteries. The offered product has a sealed enclosure designed for outdoor use, with an IP67 protection rating. All these features make the FTC21-ups an excellent solution for connecting outdoor devices located far from the main network. It allows you to connect such a device via a fiber optic link while simultaneously providing backup power. For critical network elements, this is a much better solution than, for example, a wireless link.
SFP to 1G Ethernet Media Converter
The offered product is a device used to convert optical transmission (SFP slot) into standard Ethernet transmission (1G Ethernet ports). The conversion works in both directions, so the FTC21-ups can be used both for receiving and for establishing a connection.

PoE Power Output, Two Power Inputs, Built-in Battery and UPS Function
The device has two power inputs: PoE (802.3af/at standard) and a DC jack (input voltage range 24–57 V DC). On the second Ethernet port there is a PoE power output – passive 24 V or 48 V DC, depending on the configuration. Thanks to this, the product can power another device and is not only a simple media converter. An additional advantage is the built-in Li-Ion batteries with a capacity of 2500 mAh. In the event of a failure of the main power source, backup power is activated. Considering the battery capacity, this mode is primarily intended to protect against short power outages rather than to provide long-term backup. When power is restored, the batteries are recharged.
SwOS Operating System
The FTC21-ups is equipped with the SwOS operating system and supports basic Layer 2 management functions such as VLANs, traffic shaping, and ACL lists. This provides significantly more capabilities than a standard media converter, which you cannot even log into.

Designed for Outdoor Use
The enclosure is fully designed for outdoor use, with an IP67 protection rating. All ports are properly protected against moisture and dust, and the material is UV-resistant. The package includes a pole-mount bracket, making the FTC21-ups ideal for connecting devices located far from the main network.
