The TP-Link TL-SG1218MP is an unmanaged Layer 2 (L2) switch with high performance, intended for use in monitoring, telecommunications, and small to medium-sized business networks. The device offers 18 ports, including 16 Gigabit Ethernet ($10/100/1000\text{ Mb/s}$) RJ45 ports and 2 Combo ports, which can function as additional Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports or as SFP slots for $1\text{ Gb/s}$ fiber optic connections. All 16 RJ45 ports support Power over Ethernet (PoE Out) functionality under the IEEE $802.3\text{af}$ and $802.3\text{at}$ (PoE+) standards. The switch is characterized by a very high total PoE power budget of $250\text{ W}$, with the capability to deliver up to $30\text{ W}$ per single port. The device operates in Store-and-Forward mode and is suitable for rack mounting ($1\text{ U}$). It offers basic, unmanaged functions such as automatic speed negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX.

Compliance with the $802.3\text{af/at}$ PoE+ standard ensures the ability to offer up to $30\text{ W}$ of power on each PoE port. The $250\text{ W}$ total PoE power supply budget* of the switch, equipped with 16 Gigabit PoE+ ports, is an ideal solution for monitoring systems, offices, dormitories, and small businesses, among others. The device is fully compatible with IP cameras, access points, IP phones, computers, printers, etc.
