CRS518-16XS-2XQ-RM has RouterOS system, well known from most MikroTik devices. Thanks to this, you have access to all advanced management functions, including Layer 3. The switch supports L3 Hardware Offloading, which significantly increases efficiency. The switching capacity is as high as 1.2 Tb/s, and the packet forwarding speed is 600 Mp/s. The switch is prepared for a very high load and the most demanding installations. The heart of the device is the efficient Marvell Prestera Aldrin2 switch chip. The device supports VLANs (8021Q, 8021ad), L3 hardware offloaded routing, ACL, LACP, MLAG, Jumbo frames, IGMP / MLD Snooping and many other functions.

16 SFP28 slots (25 Gb/s), 2 QSFP28 slots (100 Gb/s)

16 SFP28 slots with a capacity of 25 Gb/s and 2 QSFP28 slots with a capacity of 100 Gb/s were used. This type of interface enables very high speeds with the use of fiber optic cables. It will work both in the server room / data center and in long-distance connections. The ports used can be perfectly used with other MikroTikami using SFP28. Additionally, the switch is equipped with a USB port, fast Ethernet port (for management) and RJ45 console port.

Hot-swap AC power supply, hot-swap fans

The device has 2 hot-swap AC power supplies, they failover, and in the event of failure of one, the other takes over. An additional advantage is very low power consumption - a maximum of 77 W, which gives an excellent ratio of energy consumed to the offered capacity. The use of hot-swap fans increases operational reliability, if any of the modules is damaged, you can replace it without disturbing the switch's operation. The housing has been adapted for installation in a Rack 19".

Multiple uses

CRS518-16XS-2XQ-RM is perfect as the main switch in various networks. The basic application will be a data center, you can connect to an ISP with a 100 Gb/s link, and then connect servers with a bandwidth of 25 Gb/s. The switch will work in the backbone of any 25 Gb/s network, both operator (ISP) and corporate / campus networks. It is a perfect complement to the MikroTika offer, which has recently been developed towards devices with SFP28 and QSFP28 ports.
