Should high-quality 100 Gigabit connectivity be limited to indoors only? Definitely not! That’s why we created the CRS504-4XQ-OUT: a versatile, cost-effective, ultra-fast weatherproof switch for all your outdoor needs.

At the core of this masterpiece, we have an incredible Marvell Prestera switch chip. And there are four 100 Gigabit QSFP28 ports. Use them to connect other 100 Gigabit devices or grab a breakout cable to connect multiple 25 Gigabit devices. Here’s where the speedy switch chip really shines: each port is connected to four 25 Gigabit lines. That means you’re getting up to 16 high-speed fiber interfaces from a single outdoor switch! You can mix and match all kinds of connections this way: 100 Gigabits on one port, 40 Gigabits on the other, 4x25 Gigabits on the third, and maybe even some 10G or 1G cables on the fourth. And all this versatility comes in a sturdy, weatherproof IP66-rated enclosure. This rating proves it’s strong enough to handle powerful water jets from any direction!

When it comes to outdoor event planning, you can never be too prepared. So having multiple powering options is a must! And CRS504-4XQ-OUT has got you covered: there’s a standard DC jack, a 2-pin terminal, and 802.3bt PoE-in. We’ve also kept the good old management and console ports – to help you deal with any unexpected situations.

Performance-wise, CRS504-4XQ-OUT is a real workhorse that can handle VLANs, ACL, MLAG, Jumbo frames, and
so much more – even some L3 hardware offloading! The mighty Marvell Prestera switch chip dominates most tasks
without blowing the power consumption up – only up to 25W (without attachments).

Switch with Layer 3 management

CRS504-4XQ-OUT has the RouterOS v7 system with a Level 5 license. Thanks to this, it offers full Layer 3 management, known from other MikroTik solutions. You can use VLANs, ACLs, MLAGs and many other features. However, please note that the CRS504-4XQ-OUT is a switch, not a router. The device uses a QCA9531 processor (MIPSBE architecture) equipped with 1 core (650 MHz frequency). Switch chip 98DX4310 is responsible for switching, each of the 4 interfaces is connected to the chip with 4 25 Gb/s lines. Thanks to this, the device has as many as 16 lines with a bandwidth of 25 Gb/s, which ensure the speed offered by the ports.

IP66 outdoor enclosure

The device has a housing adapted to be mounted outside buildings, it is characterized by the degree of protection IP66. The interfaces are secured with 3 cable glands. You can mount the switch on the wall using 4 mounting pins or on a pole using 2 metal bands. Accessories are included in the set.

4 QSFP28 slots

The CRS504-4XQ-OUT has 4 QSFP28 slots with a maximum bandwidth of 100 Gb/s. The interfaces are also compatible with older standards, they can work in connections of 40 Gb/s, 25 Gb/s, 10 Gb/s and even 1 Gb/s. Thanks to this, not all connected devices necessarily have QSFP28 interfaces. This functionality helps a lot in locations where you don't want to replace all your hardware right away, but plan to upgrade to 100Gbps in the future.

3 power input types

The offered product can be powered in 3 different ways. This is a very important feature when installing outside buildings, thanks to it you can use a method that is possible to use in a given location. The CRS504-4XQ-OUT can be powered via PoE (passive 43 - 57 V DC or 802.3bt standard), standard DC socket (36 - 57 V) or 2-pin DC terminal (36 - 57 V). An additional advantage is the low power consumption, which is 25 W for the switch itself, and 38 W for the switch with transceivers. The set includes a 48 V / 0.95 A power supply and a suitable gigabit PoE injector.

Multiple uses

The switch will work in many locations where you want to create a 100G network. A natural application will be to connect companies to which you offer large internet packages and various types of campus networks. On the other hand, thanks to the IP66 housing, the device is perfect for difficult conditions where dust may exist, e.g. in production halls. Using the CRS504-4XQ-OUT you do not need to use additional protection boxes, the switch itself is enough.
