The Ubiquiti U6 Enterprise In-Wall is an access point designed to work under the control of the UniFi system. It supports the modern Wi-Fi 6E standard and can provide wireless networks in three bands: 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz. It utilizes 2x2 MIMO in the 2.4 GHz band and 4x4 MIMO in the 5 and 6 GHz bands, supporting IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax (2.4 GHz) and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax (5/6 GHz) protocols. The maximum theoretical wireless network throughput is 573.5 Mbps in 2.4 GHz, 4800 Mbps in 5 GHz, and 4800 Mbps in 6 GHz. The U6-Enterprise-IW can handle up to 600 concurrent users, making it an excellent choice for crowded locations.

The offered product comes with a wall-mountable enclosure. At the back of the enclosure, you will find 1 WAN port with 2.5G Ethernet capability, allowing for very high throughput. In the lower part, there are 4 gigabit Ethernet ports serving as LAN ports. One of the LAN ports also has Power over Ethernet (PoE) output. Power is supplied through the WAN port, and you can use PoE in IEEE 802.3 at/bt standard. If you want to connect an external device for power, you will need to use PoE++ (802.3 bt).

UniFi network

The offered product operates under the control of UniFi software. UniFi enables centralized management of multiple devices from a single application. It is primarily designed for building complex hotspot networks with access points but also supports monitoring systems in the "Protect" series. With UniFi, you can build an extensive network and then control it from a single system. This means that any configuration changes, hotspot settings, or firmware updates can be performed quickly and efficiently. The UniFi application is completely free and can be downloaded on a computer or as a mobile application.

Wi-Fi 6E wireless network

The U6 Enterprise IW supports the modern Wi-Fi 6E network, capable of operating in three bands simultaneously: 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz. It supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax in 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in 5 and 6 GHz, utilizing 2x2 MIMO in 2.4 GHz and 4x4 MIMO in 5/6 GHz. Wi-Fi 6E employs the same protocols and technologies as Wi-Fi 6 but adds an additional transmission band at 6 GHz. This significantly increases transmission speed, with maximum theoretical throughput of 573.5 Mbps in 2.4 GHz, 4800 Mbps in 5 GHz, and 4800 Mbps in 6 GHz. The use of this new frequency also means reduced interference from crowded bands in 2.4 and 5 GHz, resulting in improved performance.

1x 2.5G Ethernet, 4x gigabit Ethernet, PoE power supply

The access point features 1x 2.5G Ethernet WAN port with a throughput of up to 2500 Mbps and 4x gigabit Ethernet LAN ports (10/100/1000 Mbps). The use of such a WAN port allows you to take full advantage of the speeds offered by the Wi-Fi 6E standard. Key devices in your network, such as computers, can be directly connected via Ethernet cables to the U6 Enterprise IW. The WAN port also has a Power over Ethernet (PoE) input, supporting both PoE+ (802.3at) and PoE++ (802.3bt) standards. The first LAN port features a PoE output that you can use to power another device. It's important to note that you can only utilize the PoE outputs when providing PoE++ input at 802.3bt standard. The maximum power consumption of the device itself is 21 W, and the maximum output power is 15.4 W. Please be aware that a power supply is not included in the package and needs to be purchased separately.

High gain antennas, WPA3 encryption

Inside the enclosure, there are antennas with a gain of 4 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 5.8 dBi in the 5 and 6 GHz bands. These antennas provide sufficient transmission range, suitable for most users. The device supports the new data encryption standard - WPA3, which significantly enhances network security.

Wall mounting

The device is designed for wall mounting. In the package, you will find a mounting plate and anchors. To install it, you should pass the Ethernet cable through the hole in the mounting plate.

You can also mount the access point on an electrical junction box. The mounting plate has holes with varying spacing, allowing you to adjust it to fit a specific junction box.

Multiple uses

Thanks to its 4 LAN ports and wall-mounting capabilities, the U6 Enterprise IW is an excellent solution for office environments. It serves as both a high-performance access point and an Ethernet port hub. It can work seamlessly with other UniFi solutions, allowing you to build a network that doesn't rely solely on the U6 Enterprise IW.

With a maximum capacity of up to 600 connected clients, this device can be used in scenarios that require a high number of users, such as conference rooms and other locations with a large user base. Its ability to handle a substantial number of connections makes it versatile and suitable for various deployment scenarios.
