The Ubiquiti USW-Pro-8-PoE is a managed switch designed for use within the UniFi system. It comes equipped with 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and 2 SFP+ slots (10 Gbps). Out of the 6 Ethernet ports, there are Power over Ethernet (PoE)/PoE+ outputs (802.3af/at), while the remaining 2 ports have PoE++ outputs (802.3bt). The maximum power output budget for the entire device is 120 W, and the maximum power per port depends on the standard being utilized: 15 W for 802.3af, 30 W for 802.3at, and 60 W for 802.3bt. This device belongs to the Pro series and, in addition to the basic features known from UniFi switches, it also provides Layer 3 management capabilities.

UniFi network

The offered product operates under the control of UniFi software. UniFi enables centralized management of multiple devices from a single application. It is primarily designed for building complex hotspot networks composed of access points, but it also supports monitoring systems - the "Protect" series. With UniFi, you can build an extensive network and then control it from one system. As a result, any configuration changes, hotspot settings, or firmware updates can be executed rapidly. The UniFi application is completely free, and you can download it on your computer or as a mobile application.

8 gigabit Ethernet ports(10/100/1000 Mb/s), 2 SFP+ slots (10 Gb/s), PoE output

The device features 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and 2 SFP+ slots (10 Gbps). The first 6 Ethernet ports support IEEE 802.3af/at PoE output, while the remaining 2 ports support IEEE 802.3bt PoE output. The maximum combined power output budget is 120 W. The power per port depends on the utilized standard: 15 W for 802.3af, 30 W for 802.3at, and 60 W for 802.3bt.

An additional asset is the 1.3" diagonal touch screen located on the front panel. It supports an augmented reality (AR) feature available in the UniFi application for mobile devices.

Built-in power supply, small dimensions

Inside the enclosure, there is a built-in AC power supply, and the device itself is connected only via a power cable. The power consumption of the switch (without PoE load) is just 30 W.

The enclosure is made of plastic and metal, with dimensions of 248 x 200 x 44 mm. The package includes a wall-mounting bracket for installation.

Uses

The USW-Pro-8-PoE is best suited for networks where UniFi solutions are utilized, such as access points. The device provides more advanced management features than standard switches from the USW series.

The use of SFP+ ports allows the USW-Pro-8-PoE to be connected with a bandwidth of 10 Gbps. The device is well suited for home networks or small businesses where an efficient solution is needed.
