MikroTik Chateau 5G R16 is a wireless router equipped with a 5G modem. It can transmit wireless networks in both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands simultaneously, following the Wi-Fi 5 standard. The maximum theoretical throughput is 867 Mb/s in 5 GHz and 300 Mb/s in 2.4 GHz. The integrated modem supports 5G mobile transmission, is backward compatible with LTE Cat. 20 and 3G. The maximum theoretical throughput (for 5G transmission) is 4 Gb/s for data downloads and 900 Mb/s for uploads. The device features 5 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mb/s) and 1 USB port.
The offered product is primarily suitable as the main router for SOHO applications. The 5G transmission ensures a very high throughput, more than sufficient for home use. With gigabit ports and a powerful processor, the device ensures stable operation. Chateau 5G can also be used as a backup router, taking over in case of a failure in the main connection. In such a configuration, mobile transmission can provide internet connectivity if your regular service provider experiences issues.
Wi-Fi 5 AC1200 wireless network
Chateau 5G R16 can transmit wireless networks in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands simultaneously. It utilizes Wi-Fi 5 standards, including IEEE 802.11 b/g/n in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 300 Mb/s in 2.4 GHz and 867 Mb/s in 5 GHz, which is sufficient for most home or small office applications. The built-in omnidirectional antennas handle the transmission, with a gain of 3 dBi in 2.4 GHz and 5.5 dBi in 5 GHz.
Integrated 5G modem
The device is equipped with an integrated modem that supports 5G transmission. The maximum theoretical throughput (for SA Sub-6) is 4 Gb/s for downloading data and 900 Mb/s for uploading. This speed is significantly higher than in 4G (LTE) connections. The modem is backward compatible, also supporting LTE Cat. 20 (2 Gb/s download / 200 Mb/s upload) and 3G. With support for older standards, Chateau 5G R16 can be utilized in almost any location without concerns about network access.
5 gigabit Ethernet ports, 1 USB port
MikroTik Chateau 5G is equipped with 5 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mb/s), providing high throughput for wired connections and enabling the utilization of the speeds offered by the 5G modem. An additional advantage is the USB port, to which you can connect external storage. Increasing the memory allows for the installation of various containerized applications, further enhancing the router's capabilities.
Next to the Ethernet ports, there is a DC power socket for power supply. The input voltage range is 12 - 28 V DC, and the maximum power consumption is 15 W (25 W with the USB port loaded). The package includes a standard power supply of 24 V / 1.2 A.Multiple uses
The device will be suitable for various applications. The primary use is as a main router in a home or small office (SOHO segment). On one hand, you can use Chateau 5G in places where you only have access to mobile transmission. On the other hand, it will also be useful in any standard location if the 5G modem is used as a backup.
The multitude of configuration options offered by RouterOS will be appreciated by every advanced user. If you want to use the 5G/LTE modem as a backup connection, the offered product will even be suitable for larger corporate networks.High performance, advanced software
The router's design is based on a quad-core IPQ-4019 processor with a clock speed of 448 - 896 MHz. Additionally, the device has 256 MB of RAM and 16 MB of built-in memory. It ensures high routing performance, even with multiple users connected simultaneously.
The RouterOS operating system allows for the creation of advanced configurations, similar to those in more expensive MikroTik solutions. On the other hand, for regular users, there is a simple and intuitive web interface available.
