The MC420L Media Converter enables the conversion of a 10GBASE-SR/LR, 10GBASE-LRM optical signal to a copper cable-transmitted 10GBASE-T signal and vice versa. When integrated with an SFP module, it easily increases the distance of an existing gigabit network via fiber optic cable. It operates in accordance with IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR/LR 10G Ethernet and IEEE 802.3an 10GBASE-T 10G standards within the intended application with a multimode/single-mode SFP module.
The converter can operate as a standalone device or be mounted in a TP-LINK chassis. The TX port features automatic crossover (Auto MDI/MDI-X). LED indicators on the front panel display the device's operational status. Connecting an SFP module allows the MC420L converter to increase the optical signal transmission distance. However, the maximum transmission distance depends on the connected SFP module.
