UltraLAN gel-filled UTP Category 5e cable. The veins are made of copper-clad aluminum (CCA). The cable is intended for outdoor use, with a double coating - an outer layer made of PE, an inner layer made of PVC, and a gel to prevent longitudinal water penetration. It is resistant to adverse weather conditions. The outer diameter is 5.2 mm, while the vein diameter is approximately 0.5 mm (24AWG). The cable can be successfully used for data transmission outdoors. It is sold in a carton containing approximately 305 meters of cable (1000 ft).
Category 5e
The cable meets the requirements of Category 5e, which is currently the most popular category of Ethernet cabling. It supports frequencies up to 100 MHz and is typically used in the 1000BASE-T (1 Gb/s) standard, but it can also handle the 2.5GBASE-T (2.5 Gb/s) standard.
U/UTP (formerly known as UTP) twisted pair cable is not additionally shielded (denoted by U - Unshielded). Individual pairs of wires are twisted together and placed within a sheath, without additional foils and separators. The wires are enclosed in colored insulation, allowing for easy identification of each wire and termination with RJ45 connectors.
The conductors are made using CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) technology, where an aluminum core is coated with copper. The average diameter of the conductor is around 0.5 mm (24AWG). Utilizing this technology in production allows for a significant reduction in cable cost without sacrificing functionality. For standard Ethernet transmissions without Power over Ethernet (PoE) requirements, you won't notice any difference between using CCA and pure copper cables. This solution can greatly reduce installation costs.
The offered product features a double sheath - one layer is made of PVC, and the other (outer layer) is made of PE (Polyethylene). The cable is designed for outdoor use, resistant to UV radiation, and protected against moisture ingress. Thanks to the double shielding, the cable is more durable compared to competing solutions and boasts better longevity. The outer diameter is 5.2 mm. The product cannot be used indoors and complies with the Fca standard according to the CPR directive.
Inside the coating, there is a special hydrophobic gel that protects against longitudinal moisture ingress. This is an additional safeguard that enables cable installation in challenging conditions, such as in sewers or pipes where water may periodically be present. The gel protects the veins, preventing them from being permanently damaged by moisture.
The product is sold in a cardboard package. Inside, the cable is coiled into a roll that can be conveniently unwound through a specially designed opening. Additional plastic protection safeguards the cable from mechanical damage and abrasion during unwinding. A handle on the top of the box allows you to easily carry it with one hand. The side wall of the box can be opened, allowing you to quickly remove the entire cable if needed. Inside the box, there are 305 meters of cable.
UltraLAN cables are originally packed in pairs in sturdy shipping cartons. When ordering an even number, you will receive the cables in additional packaging, which is ideal for courier shipments.
