Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Wall is a unique device that combines many applications. It is a UniFi system controller/gateway, it can be used for UniFi Network, Protect, Access, Talk and Connect. It is the heart of the system, you can use it to manage connected access points and as a UniFi Protect recorder. The device is equipped with 17 gigabit Ethernet ports, 1 2.5G Ethernet port and 2 SFP+ slots. The 2.5G Ethernet interface and one SFP+ slot can work as WAN ports, the other ports work only as LAN. In addition, Bcc can also power other devices. The gigabit Ethernet ports located at the bottom of the housing have been divided into 4 sections with 4 ports each, the first one does not support PoE, the second supports PoE++ (802.3af/at/bt), the third PoE+ (802.3af/at), and the fourth PoE 802.3 af. A total of 12 power ports are available.

An additional advantage of UniFi Deam Wall is the built-in radio and the ability to work as a standard access point. The device can transmit a wireless network in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands simultaneously, supports the modern Wi-Fi 6 standard, including IEEE 802.11 b/g/n in 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in 5 GHz . The maximum theoretical throughput is 300 Mb/s in 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mb/s in 5 GHz.

UniFi network

The offered product works under the control of the UniFi software. UniFi enables centralized management of multiple devices from a single application. It was mainly designed to build a hotspot network consisting of access points, but it also supports monitoring systems - the "Protect" series. With UniFi, you can build an extensive network and then control it from a single system. Thanks to this, each change of configuration, hotspot settings or firmware update is instant. The UniFi application is completely free, you can download it to your computer or as an application for mobile devices.

Router / firewall function

Ubiquiti UDW can act as a basic router. It has an efficient, quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and 4 GB of RAM. It will fully cope with a network consisting of many devices, even when using high bandwidth. In addition, it also acts as a firewall - a network firewall that protects all users against attacks from the outside.

17 gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 SFP+ slots, 1 2.5G Ethernet port, PoE power

The offered product is equipped with 17 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 16 of which are located in the main section, at the bottom of the device, and 1 on the back. In the main section there is an additional SFP+ slot, and in the back there is a 2.5G Ethernet port and a second SFP+ slot. The 2.5G Ethernet port and the SFP+ slot on the back can be used as WAN, the other interfaces act as LAN. Such a large variety of physical interfaces enables a convenient choice of the type of connection to the Internet source. An additional SFP+ slot will allow for the physical connection of the most demanding devices, e.g. a server.

In addition, UDW supports PoE power supply - it will work when connecting cameras or access points. The gigabit Ethernet ports have been divided into 4 sections with 4 ports each. The second section supports PoE++ (802.3af/at/bt standards), the third PoE+ (802.3af/at standards), and the fourth PoE (802.3af standard). In total, the user has 12 ports with power output.

UniFi controller / gateway

Dream Wall is designed to work as a UniFi system controller/gateway. Thus, when creating your network on UDW, you do not have to buy an additional, external controller.

UDW is equipped with a 128 GB SSD and a 512 GB microSD card. They will be especially useful if you use Dream Wall as an IP recorder in the UniFi Protect system.

Wi-Fi 6 AX2700 wireless network

Ubiquiti UDW can transmit a wireless network in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands simultaneously. Supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard, including IEEE 802.11 b/g/n in 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in 5 GHz. The maximum theoretical throughput is 2700 Mb/s - 300 Mb/s in 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mb/s in 5 GHz. The access point is another of many UniFi Dream Wall functionalities. So many different functionalities will work primarily in home applications, where BCC can replace one access point, router, switch and IP recorder.
