The MikroTik NetBox 5 ax is a radio designed to operate in the 5 GHz frequency band. It supports Wi-Fi 6 standard - the 802.11ax protocol, and features 2x2 MIMO (dual-chain). The device is enclosed in a weather-resistant housing suitable for outdoor mounting and comes with RP-SMA connectors. It is powered by a dual-core IPQ-5010 processor with a clock speed of 800 MHz, based on ARM architecture. The device is equipped with a 1-gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mbps), which also serves as a Power over Ethernet (PoE) input.
The offered product comes with a pre-installed RouterOS v7 system with a Level 4 license. You can use it to create a Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) base station, a PTMP client device, or for Point-to-Point (PTP) connections. The universal connectors allow you to connect antennas based on your specific needs in a given location. The device is backward compatible with the 802.11 a/n/ac standards.
Wi-Fi 6 Radio for 5 GHz Band Operation
The device supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard, including IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax protocols. It can operate wirelessly in the 5 GHz band and supports dual polarization (2x2 MIMO/dual-chain). With the Level 4 license of NetBox 5 ax, you can use it as a base station in Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) connections, as a client device in Point-to-Multipoint connections, or in Point-to-Point (PTP) connections. Coupled with an attractive price, the L11UG-5HaxD-NB can become the primary MikroTik radio for use in a majority of installations.
High performance
The NetBox 5 ax is equipped with a powerful dual-core IPQ-5010 processor clocked at 800 MHz. Additionally, the device has 256 MB of RAM and 128 MB of built-in NAND storage. These components ensure stable and efficient operation, even under high load. This is especially important if you plan to use the NetBox 5 ax as a base station.
Waterproof enclosure
The device has been enclosed in a waterproof housing designed for outdoor mounting. All connectors have been protected against water ingress.
Included in the package is a metal hose clamp that you can use during pole mounting, as well as a DIN rail mount.
RP-SMA connectors
In NetBox 5 ax, standard RP-SMA connectors (with an external thread) have been used. This allows you to use any antenna that suits your needs in a given location. You are not restricted to choosing solutions from a specific manufacturer.
This feature makes the device suitable not only for Point-to-Multipoint networks but also for Point-to-Point connections. In some locations, you can replace old radios with NetBox 5 ax without the need to disassemble the antenna.
Gigabit Ethernet Port, PoE Power
The offered product features a 1-gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mbps), which simultaneously serves as a Power over Ethernet (PoE) input. NetBox 5 ax supports passive PoE, with an input voltage range of 18 - 28 V DC. The maximum power consumption of the device is only 6 W.
An additional advantage is the USB 2.0 port, which you can use to connect external storage. Next to the Ethernet port, there are LED indicators that provide information about the current signal, simplifying visualization.
