The Opton 40G-SM-D31-ELR4 is a QSFP+ transceiver designed for use with single-mode optical fibers. It supports a maximum data rate of 40 Gb/s, in line with the standard. The module features two LC/UPC connectors: one for transmission (Tx) and the other for reception (Rx), operating on a 1310 nm wavelength. The transmitter power range is -4.5 to 2.3 dBm, with a receiver sensitivity of -12.5 dBm. The maximum transmission range reaches up to 20 km. The module is pre-programmed for Cisco and should be compatible with systems that do not restrict third-party modules, including D-Link, TP-Link, Planet, MikroTik, and others. Upon request, we can program SFP modules to work with any device.
QSFP+ transceiver
This device is a QSFP+ transceiver, supporting a data rate of 40 Gb/s, which is four times higher than popular SFP+ modules. Such transceivers are most commonly used in server rooms for interconnecting switches or other network solutions. Due to its range, the primary application of this product is point-to-point connections between two distant locations.

Singlemode fiber, range up to 20 km
The offered product is compatible with single-mode fiber optic cables, enabling long transmission distances.
The 40G-SM-D31-ELR4 transceiver features optical power in the range of -4.5 to 2.3 dBm and a receiver sensitivity of up to -12.5 dBm. It supports a maximum connection range of 20 km.
LC/UPC connectors
The transceiver uses standard LC/UPC connectors.

Two connectors (Duplex type)
The transceiver uses two connectors: one for transmitting (Tx) and the other for receiving (Rx) the signal. In both cases, a wavelength of 1310 nm is used. It is essential to connect the Tx of one transceiver to the Rx of the other.
High compatibility
The Opton QSFP+ modules are factory-programmed for Cisco but can work with devices from all manufacturers that do not use third-party module restrictions. These include, for example, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, TP-Link, D-Link, and Planet.
For solutions where the manufacturer uses third-party module locks (e.g., HP, Extreme Networks, Aruba), it is possible to have the QSFP+ module reprogrammed by our service department. If you have any doubts before purchasing, feel free to contact us.
