Remember our sensational 100 Gigabit switches – the CRS504 and CRS518? It’s time for another breathtaking addition to the MikroTik 100 Gigabit product family: the versatile CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN!
This handy switch has two 100 Gigabit QSFP28 ports and eight 25 Gigabit SFP28 ports. This combination of ports guarantees a perfect fit in almost any setup or server room. Various direct attach cables, active optical cables, copper RJ45’s… CRS510 will keep everything connected! You’ll save time, money, and precious nerve cells with the backward compatibility. This unit supports all sorts of devices – 40 Gigabit, 25 Gigabit, 10 Gigabit, and even older Gigabit connections. And – speaking of nerve cells – we’ve kept the sysadmin’s emergency tool: the good old console port.
Another reason why we love the new CRS510 (and you will too!) is the performance. It can handle VLANs, ACL, MLAG, Jumbo frames, and so much more – even some L3 hardware offloading! The mighty Marvell Prestera switch chip dominates most tasks without blowing the power consumption up – only up to 27W (without attachments).
Switch with advanced management features
CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN has the RouterOS v7 system with a Level 5 license. Thanks to this, it offers full Layer 3 management, known from other MikroTika solutions. You can use VLANs, ACLs, MLAGs and many other features. However, please note that the CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN is a switch, not a router. The device uses a QCA9531 processor (MIPSBE architecture) equipped with 1 core clocked at 650 MHz. Switch chip 98DX4310 is responsible for switching, which has been equipped with 16 lines with a bandwidth of 25 Gb/s. QSFP28 interfaces are connected to the chip with 4 lines, and the rest with 1.
8 SFP28 slots (25G), 2 QSFP28 slots (100G)
The switch is equipped with 8 SFP28 slots with a bandwidth of 25 Gb/s and 2 QSFP28 slots with a bandwidth of 100 Gb/s. The ports are also backwards compatible with speeds of 40Gb/s, 25Gb/s, 10Gb/s and even 1Gb/s. The connected devices do not need to have SFP28 / QSFP28 interfaces, which simplifies the modification of an existing network. The use of two 100G ports allows cascading of devices while maintaining high throughput between individual segments.
4 power inputs
The offered product is distinguished by many power supply options. It has been equipped with two built-in hot-swap AC power supplies, in case of failure of one, the other takes over. In addition, the device has 3 ways of supplying DC power: via PoE (passive or 802.3bt Class 6), DC socket or 2-pin DC terminal. An additional advantage is the low power consumption, the device itself consumes up to 27 W, together with the inserts, the consumption can reach 45 W.
Usage
The natural place for mounting the CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN is the server room, the switch provides high bandwidth connections and many ports. You can also successfully use it in any other network whose backbone is based on 25G transmission. The speed offered will certainly be appreciated by every Internet operator.
The possibilities are further expanded by the use of the RouterOS system, and thus access to Layer 3 management functions.
