MikroTik cAP ax is an access point supporting the Wi-Fi 6 standard. It supports the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical bandwidth of the wireless network is 1800 Mb/s - 574 Mb/s in 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mb/s in 5 GHz. Built-in omni-directional antennas with an energy gain of 5.5 dBi are responsible for the transmission. The device is equipped with a powerful IPQ-6010 processor with four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The access point has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps), the first one is for PoE input and the second for output (PoE Passhtrough). Thanks to this, you can connect another one to one cAP ax using only one Ethernet cable.
The offered product has been designed primarily for use within the CAPsMAN system. CAPsMAN allows you to connect multiple access points within one centralized network to cover very large areas. cAP ax has a housing adapted for wall mounting, in a similar form as other devices from the cAP series. The access point is best suited for large networks used in companies, restaurants, hotels or public buildings.
Wi-Fi 6 AX1800 wireless network
MikroTik cAP ax can transmit a wireless network in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands simultaneously. It uses the Wi-Fi 6 standard, supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax in 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in 5 GHz. The access point in both bands uses dual polarity (2x2 MIMO / dual-chain). The maximum theoretical Wi-Fi throughput is 1800 Mb/s - 574 Mb/s in .4 GHz and 1201 Mb/s in 5 GHz. This is the speed that allows you to comfortably use the Internet, including downloading large files and watching video content in high resolution. Wi-Fi 6 also introduces other useful features - MU-MIMO (simultaneous transmission and reception of data from multiple users), Beamforming (beamforming to improve range) and WPA3 - the latest data encryption standard.
Efficient CPU, RouterOS system with Level 4 license
The offered product has a quad-core IPQ-6010 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz (ARM 64bit architecture). Thanks to this, despite its small size, cAP ax is characterized by performance similar to other MikroTika routers. The device is equipped with 1 GB of RAM and 128 MB of built-in memory (NAND). The RouterOS system with a Level 4 license is used, as in other products from the cAP series.
2 gigabit Ethernet ports 10/100/1000 Mb/s, PoE output
The access point has been equipped with 2 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps), the speed of physical interfaces will not limit the possibilities offered by Wi-Fi. The first port serves as the PoE power input, the input voltage range is 18 - 57 V DC. The device is also compatible with the IEEE 802.3 af/at standard, if necessary, you can use a standard DC socket for power supply. The maximum power consumption is only 9 W.
An additional advantage is the PoE power output, which is located on the second Ethernet port. The output voltage depends on the input voltage, at a voltage below 30 V DC, if you want to use the PoE output, you must connect the power supply to the DC socket. Thanks to this functionality, you can connect another access point or IP camera to the cAP ax without having to run a new cable from the switch. This possibility in many situations will greatly facilitate the installation and connection of devices.
Ceiling mount, programmable button
The device has a housing adapted for mounting on the ceiling, in the set you will find the necessary accessories - a handle and dowels. In the middle is the "Mode button" - a programmable button that by default is used to turn off the LEDs. You can configure it to execute any RouterOS scripts.
For use in large wireless networks
MikroTik cAP ax is compatible with the CAPsMAN system, which allows for centralized management of multiple access points. The CAPsMAN network can cover very large areas, ideally suited to hotels, restaurants, schools and public buildings. The offered product has a housing adapted to be mounted on the ceiling, in the same way as other solutions of this type. After hanging, it blends into the surroundings and is unobtrusive.
