The Ubiquiti Wave Pro is a device designed for wireless operation in the 60 GHz band. It supports two operating modes: Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-MultiPoint (PTMP) station. You can use it for point-to-point connections (PTP) or as a client in point-to-multipoint connections (PTMP). The device is equipped with an integrated antenna with a gain of 46 dBi. The maximum transmission range is 8 km in PTMP mode with Wave AP, 6 km in PTMP mode with Wave AP Micro, or 15 km in PTP mode. The maximum connection throughput is 5.4 Gb/s (2.7 Gb/s duplex). With the Wave Pro, you can establish a high-speed PTP connection.
The offered product is equipped with 2 ports of 2.5G Ethernet (2.5 Gb/s) and 1 SFP+ slot (10 Gb/s). The use of the SFP+ slot allows for the full utilization of the wireless interface capabilities. The Ethernet port serves simultaneously as a Power over Ethernet (PoE) input, supporting passive PoE 24 or 48 V DC (more details in the specification). An additional advantage is the inclusion of a backup 5 GHz radio, which takes over in case of a failure in the primary connection. A Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) compatible radio with modulation up to 1024QAM is employed. This ensures that even in the event of a failure, your clients will have access to a network with relatively high throughput.
PTMP client or PTP, up to 5,4 Gb/s
The Wave Pro supports two operating modes: PTP (Point-to-Point) and PTMP Station (Point-to-MultiPoint Station). This flexibility allows you to use it to establish efficient point-to-point connections or as a client in point-to-multipoint networks. The maximum connection throughput is 5.4 Gb/s (2.7 Gb/s duplex). It is important to note that the device is compatible exclusively with other solutions from the Ubiquiti UISP Wave series. The offered speed is significantly higher than that of traditional 5/6 GHz networks, enabling you to create transmissions with very high throughput.
Thanks to its two operating modes, the Wave Pro is suitable for various applications. It's naturally well-suited for point-to-point connections, but it can also be useful in point-to-multipoint networks, especially when connecting demanding subscribers. The device is equipped with a GPS antenna for synchronization and also features Bluetooth radio, enabling configuration using the UISP application. You can manage the Wave Pro either through the standard graphical web interface or through the UISP app.
46 dBi antenna, range up to 15 km
The device is equipped with an integrated antenna with a gain of 46 dBi, designed to operate in the 60 GHz frequency band. The antenna beam has a directional characteristic with a width of 1.3° at 3 dB. This indicates that the transmission is highly focused in a specific direction, providing a narrow and concentrated coverage area for optimal performance in point-to-point applications.
The maximum transmission range for point-to-point connections with the Wave Pro is up to 15 km. However, if you intend to use the Wave Pro in point-to-multipoint connections, the range will be dependent on the base station. When using Wave AP, the range can reach up to 8 km, and with Wave AP Micro, it's up to 6 km. The specific range may vary based on environmental factors and interference, but these figures provide a general idea of the expected coverage.
IPX6, wall / pole mounting
The offered product is fully adapted for outdoor use, characterized by an IPX6 protection rating. With the accessories included in the package, you can mount the Wave Pro on a pole or wall as needed. This design ensures that the device is well-protected against environmental conditions, making it suitable for deployment in outdoor settings.
The mount allows for tilt adjustment in the vertical plane. Additionally, the package includes a scope that further facilitates alignment or aiming. This feature enhances the ease of installation and alignment of the Wave Pro device in your specific deployment scenario.
5 GHz backup radio
The Wave Long-Range features an additional radio designed to operate in the 5 GHz band, which takes over in case of a failure in the primary connection. It utilizes the modern Wi-Fi 6 standard (802.11ax protocol), providing significantly higher throughput than airMAX ac solutions. The backup 5 GHz radio is a crucial component of devices operating in the 60 GHz band, ensuring essential transmission stability regardless of weather conditions. This redundancy contributes to the reliability of the connection, enhancing overall network performance.
2x 2.5G Ethernet, 1x SFP+, PoE in
The device is equipped with 2 ports of 2.5G Ethernet (2.5 Gb/s) and 1 SFP+ slot (10 Gb/s). Utilizing such interfaces allows you to leverage the capabilities offered by wireless transmission. Wave Pro can be powered via passive PoE, using either 24 or 48 V DC (refer to the table for detailed information). The maximum power consumption is 26 W, and the power supply is included in the package.
