TP-Link DS-P7001-01 is an OLT terminal designed for GPON networks. It features one PON port and supports a 1:128 split, allowing you to connect up to 128 subscribers. The device is equipped with two uplink ports – SFP+ (10 Gb/s) and 2.5G Ethernet, enabling you to deliver high-bandwidth packages to clients. This OLT is ideal for locations with a relatively low number of subscribers or as an extension of an existing network. It can also be used as a backup OLT or in specialized applications, such as hotels or office buildings. You can manage the device via a graphical Web interface, CLI command line, or centralized DPMS (DeltaStream PON Management System).
1 GPON port, 10G uplink
The OLT is equipped with 1 GPON port, which, according to the standard, supports a maximum split of 1:128, allowing you to connect up to 128 subscribers. The bandwidth is 2.5 Gb/s for downstream data and 1.25 Gb/s for upstream data.
The manufacturer has equipped the device with 1 SFP+ slot (10 Gb/s) and 1 2.5G Ethernet port as uplink ports. This allows you to provide high-speed packages to subscribers.
Various Management Options
The DS-P7001-01 can be managed using the CLI command line, the Web graphical interface, or the DPMS system. Unlike some competing solutions, it stands out with its simple configuration, so you don’t need to go through extensive documentation.
The DPMS (DeltaStream PON Management System) is a special program that allows centralized management of a GPON network. You can connect multiple devices to it, not only OLTs but also ONUs/ONTs. With DPMS, you can easily and remotely change settings of the devices in use and onboard new clients. The software is fully free and can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
OLT for Special Applications
The 1-port OLT terminal is an excellent device for small locations where you don’t expect many subscribers. It also allows you to segment the network into smaller parts and install it at the target location, such as in the basement of an apartment building or an outdoor cabinet. Additionally, it is well-suited for unconventional applications, such as large office buildings or hotels, where the network often needs to cover long distances. In such cases, GPON technology helps reduce network construction costs by minimizing the number of optical modules and active network devices.
Two Power Supply Options
The device supports PoE+ (802.3at) and has a built-in DC socket (12 V), allowing you to use both power sources simultaneously. This ensures that if one power source fails, the other will take over, ensuring continuous operation. The maximum power consumption of the OLT terminal is only 17 W.
