The Opton FOSC-U-288 is a dome-type fiber optic splice closure designed for outdoor installation on poles or walls. It features 6 trays, each capable of accommodating up to 48 splices, with a total capacity of 288 splices. The bottom part has 6 circular openings with a diameter of 23 mm each, and 1 oval opening measuring 40 x 70 mm. Thermo type inputs are used; cables should be secured using heat shrink tubes, which are included in the kit. The bracket allows for mounting the closure on a pole (the appropriate clamp is included) or a wall (two holes for mounting screws; screws need to be purchased separately).

The closure features thermo type inputs, and after installing the cables, they should be secured using heat shrink tubes included in the kit. This method is safer than using chokes and additionally, it is universal - suitable for cables of various diameters. The 6 circular openings have a diameter of 23 mm each, and the oval opening measures 40 x 70 mm. By using the oval opening, you can pass more than one cable into the closure.

6 splice trays (max 288J)

Inside, you'll find 6 splice trays, each capable of accommodating up to 48 splice protectors (two protectors should be installed in one slot), providing a total capacity for 288 fibers. Each tray can be swiveled to access another one. Due to the external dimensions of the closure, large trays have been used, providing convenience during work and allowing space for excess cable.

Wall or pole mount installation

The closure features a universal bracket, enabling two mounting options. In the kit, you'll find a metal bracket allowing you to hang it on a pole. Optionally, by using two bolts (to be purchased separately), you can mount the closure on a wall. The product is made of UV-resistant plastic. A gasket seals the interior against water and dust ingress, although cable entry/exit points need to be sealed independently. The height of the closure is 445 mm, and the diameter is 220 mm.
