EPON / GPON network

HG325AX15 is a versatile ONT client terminal that can operate in both GPON and EPON networks. The manufacturer has implemented an SC/APC optical connector with a class B+ laser for GPON and PX20+ for EPON. The reception sensitivity is -27 dBm, while the transmission power is -3 dBm for EPON and -8 dBm for GPON.

The connection bandwidth depends on the standard used: it is 1.25 / 1.25 Gb/s (download/upload) for EPON transmission or 2.5 / 1.25 Gb/s for GPON transmission.

Wi-Fi 6 AX1500

The ONT terminal can transmit wireless networks using Wi-Fi 6. It supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in the 5 GHz band. The theoretical maximum bandwidth is 300 Mb/s in 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mb/s in 5 GHz.

The Wi-Fi 6 standard, in addition to offering higher throughput compared to Wi-Fi 5, introduces several other useful features. These include the OFDMA protocol, MU-MIMO (which allows simultaneous data transmission and reception from multiple users), and WPA3 encryption. The wireless network is visible under a single SSID, without separating the bands.

4 gigabit Ethernet ports, 1 POTS port, 1 USB 3.0 port

The HG325AX15 features 4 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mb/s) that function as LAN ports. You can connect essential devices or those that do not support wireless transmission. Additionally, the ONT has a POTS port (RJ11) for connecting a standard analog telephone, which is useful for subscribers using VoIP. Another advantage is the USB 3.0 port, which allows you to connect external storage and create a file server.

Usage

The HG325AX15 is suitable for most internet networks based on EPON/GPON technologies. An important feature is its support for both technologies, which is significant if you currently have an EPON network but plan to transition to GPON in the future. This ONT terminal allows you to provide triple play services to subscribers, including internet, television, and telephone.
